A few houses at the far end of the island
Lia is one of the most remote beaches on Mykonos. It lies on the south-east coast beyond Kalo Livadi, and around it there is little more than a scattering of private houses, holiday villas and the odd seasonal business. Nothing here is on a sewer: every property relies on its own septic tank, sealed holding tank or cesspit, and some newer villas have a small wastewater treatment unit.
Being far from everything means help is also further away. A tank that overflows on a Saturday night in August is a bigger problem at Lia than in town, so the owners who have the fewest headaches are the ones who know their tank size and empty it before it is full, not after.

Why Lia needs a little planning
The drive out to Lia is one of the longest we make on the island. We do not mind it, but it pays to plan. If you call a few days ahead, we can slot your emptying into a morning when one of our tankers is already on the east side of the island, and you get a firm time instead of a vague one.
Before the first visit, send us a location pin and tell us where the tank lid is. Some houses sit below the road or behind a gate, and knowing that in advance tells us which truck to send and how much hose to bring.
Keeping a remote house running all summer
A villa at Lia that is rented week after week in July and August can fill its tank long before the season ends. For rentals we suggest booking one emptying for the middle of the summer at the start of the year, timed for a changeover day, so you are never waiting for a truck with guests in the house.
